Training Resources

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College provides customized training and degree programs to meet the needs of a wide array of employers located in the area. WITC has a new campus in Hudson as well as several other campuses nearby.

Wisconsin's new Youth Options Program allows high school seniors to enroll as full- or part-time students at WITC campuses with school districts paying the cost of tuition, books, and fees. Students can get a head-start on career training or obtain a two-year degree while they're earning a high school diploma.

The University of Wisconsin River Falls is a four-year university located just minutes away from the St. Croix Business Park. A variety of degree programs and links to other University of Wisconsin campuses provide top quality students, graduates, and programs for your business to utilize.

The Hudson School District has invested more than $21.9 million in facility upgrades recently to provide the most up-to-date technological facilities in the area. The School District of Hudson provides School to Work and Youth Apprenticeship programs that benefit both students and the businesses involved.

Wage Rates

Employers choosing to expand to the St. Croix Business Park will find wage rates very appealing. Even though the St. Croix Business Park is located within the Minneapolis/St. Paul MSA, wage rates in Hudson and the surrounding county are generally only 69% of the MSA average.

Businesses benefit by having a close geographic location to the metro area and the lower wage rates of an outlying area.

Worker Availability

  Commuters
Because the St. Croix Business Park and the City of Hudson are located so near a major metropolitan area many residents commute to jobs in St. Paul or Minneapolis. The county loses thousands of employees each day to job outside of the area, but many workers would prefer jobs closer to home. Capitalize on the talented workers that are waiting for more local opportunities.

Resources
Wisconsin has a statewide network of job centers that allow employers to link up with prospective employees via the jobcenters themselves or the jobnet.

Local jobfairs produce excellent results for employers and take place several times each year.

"I am very excited to have relocated my company from Minnesota to Hudson, Wisconsin. Our firm does business with customers throughout the world, but the best place in the world for us is right here in the St. Croix Business Park."
